Get Involved In Network Marketing

Initially, the U.S. legal system attempted to ban network marketing. Any new system seems to go through a period of being considered a scam or suspicious. Franchises had the same adjustment period when the system was first introduced. Network marketing has been around for well over 50 years. When I first learned of this system, I too thought it was suspicious and “to good to be true”. Over the years, I have studied the various systems and acquired the requisite knowledge; dropped my prejudices and have a full understanding of what it takes to be successful. The first and foremost is BELIEF.

People get involved thinking it is a get rich quick scheme — nothing can be further from the truth. It takes hard work, dedication and consistency to be successful in this business. People that do get involved — jump in with both feet and unknowingly repel the people they are trying to share the opportunity with. They run out (encouraged by their well intentioned up-line) and start trying to connect with people, yet they do not know the details of their own opportunity. This behaviour is encouraged by “old school”, Industrial Aged, network marketers because they are playing a numbers game — talk to enough people and you will find people who initially find the opportunity exciting. New people trying to recruit new people, without taking the time to learn the business. This has been passed down from leader to leader to leader. It is this exact behaviour, in part, that has given network marketing part of its’ negative connotation. Another part of the problem is that the up-line sponsor hasn’t taken the time or even worse, doesn’t know how to help the newly recruited Network Marketer overcome the obstacles associated with their new business.

Education is the cornerstone of this business……learning how to talk to people effectively, learning how to overcome rejection, learning effective presentation skills, learning how to train and teach others, to name a few. Find a MENTOR who has already done or doing what it is that you are looking for. Avoid the ADVISOR who tells you how, but isn’t or hasn’t done it.

The cost to join a respectable network marketing company is reasonable (usually around $200). Beware of companies trying to get you to purchase high levels of inventory to get started — they are more interested in pushing product first than educating their distributors; they will say things like it increases your commitment, you will be able to make a quick profit (the products sale fast), etc….. although, there may be some truth to this, network marketing companies know that MOST people drop out of the business (due to lack of education/training) or jump around to another network marketing company, which lure with promises of riches and speed to the top.

Network Marketing is like buying your own personal franchise — without the large amount of capital investment. Your investment into your personal franchise is going to be your time. There is a lot of hard work, awkward conversations and endless learning.

The number one thing that holds people back from success is the fear of being rejected and worrying about what others say & think about you. I have met so many people that are holding themselves back because of their fear of what opinions others might have of them. You must not worry about what others think of you; it is more important to worry about what you think of yourself.

You must also become a leader. Your ability to get along with and inspire people will be priceless and is a skill that can be learned. This is a true barrier free business, so you will be interacting with people from all walks of life. As you learn and know your business, your confidence and ability to talk to people skyrocket. It is truly a shame that people often do not give themselves a chance to reach that level — they quit as a result of not learning how to deal with rejection and/or have unrealistic expectations about the level commitment required to their business.

Network marketing success is when your commitment and hard work in the short term results in significant passive income long term. It takes time to build a strong organization — there is no overnight success. If you put in the commitment; I will mold you into the business leader you want to become.

Today, in the Information Age with Social Media and a multitude of other resources at your fingertips, the risk in becoming a successful business owner has been greatly diminished; and the opportunity to be successful and build your own business has greatly increased.

Network marketing has taken away the hard part of developing a system for freedom. For a small fee, you purchase the rights to promote the system, and then educate & develop the people you bring into the system, into business leaders.
